Business and Charity – giving something back to your community

Christmas charity music night a great success

On the 21st December 2012, two local Leighton Buzzard bands The PALMS & Blues Before Midnight played a charity gig at Brooklands Social Club, organised by local business couple Mike and Ann-Marie Neary of Managing Excellence Through Training Ltd. Mike is a guitarist with BBM. They would like to thank the Mayor, Councillor Allan Brandham and his wife Sally who attended the event and all local businesses who contributed raffle prizes and to the 110 people who bought tickets and came along on the night. We would also like to thank PALMS and BBM for giving up their time in rehearsals, selling tickets and setting up the event. The evening was a great success raising £1560 which will be divided between 3 charities, Willen and Keech Hospices and PTSD Resolution, an armed forces charity. A large sum of the money raised, £300, was donated by Leighton Buzzards very own local networking group LB Connect of which Mike is a Director. Since September 2012; Blues Before Midnight has raised over £2093 for local charities and will continue to do so. BBM will also be playing a charity gig for OXJAM in March.
